Clarifying Conundrum #2: Is it Bad or Good?

Romans 8:28

A wonderful verse of scripture, likely one of the most well known among believers. Yet many times when a severe trial comes along this verse seems a conundrum. It’s difficult to see how what we think is bad can ultimately be good. How do we know that this is true?

Consider five facts revealed here that will fortify your faith


I. The _______________ of it:  “For we know…”


II. The _______________ of it. “…we know that all things

  A. _______________  things:  James 1:7; Romans 2:4

  B. _______________  things:  Jeremiah 24:4-5; Psalm 119:71

    1. Every one of the bible characters came through perplexing situations.

    2. Examples: Joseph Genesis 50:20; Jacob Genesis 42:36; Paul Acts 16

    1. The principle:  Romans 5:20 

    2. The example:  The Lord to Peter   Luke 22:32

  A. Things in and of themselves don’t work together for good.

  B. There is a Sovereign God in heaven Who over-rules!
